"Up-North-Feel" located in the Irish Hills of Michigan just steps from NASCAR's Michigan International Speedway
On over 200 acres, the Groves of Michigan Campground and Event Center offers various types of camping and event spaces to fit the needs of race fans, seasonal campers, or campers looking for a weekend event or festival or getaway to spend a relaxing weekend.
The main Groves campground has over 350 electric sites (30 and 50 amp and most also have water hookups). There are also roughly 1,300 rustic sites on the property.
There are two dump stations and a honey wagon that offers services for seasonal campers as well as during longer events. The main campground has a shower house, playground as well as corn hole and other outdoor games at a small pavilion in the center of the park. A 4 acre pond/creek runs along the Creekside sites and can be used for canoeing, kayaking and fishing (no swimming). The property has trails for walking, biking or driving a golf cart. There are several nearby lakes and public beaches for swimming.
Live Music: On select weekends (including holiday weekends) and NASCAR week, the Groves will have live music.
Rentals for Water Activities: The Groves now has 20 inflatable kayaks, 10 inflatable paddleboards, 10 inflatable platforms and 50 inflatable tubes that can be rented by groups for use offsite at the many beautiful area lakes.
Camping for Michigan NASCAR Race: Race fans can pick a site type that fits their style and budget. The main campground has large electric sites (most with water, some wooded) and the rustic area located directly across from the MIS grandstands. If you are looking for a campground that has bigger sites and a little less chaos than the Speedway's campgrounds, but still have the proximity to the action, the Groves is the place for your Michigan NASCAR Camping!
The Groves also hosts the offsite vending area for the MIS NASCAR event with many vendors as well as food trucks and live entertainment.
Friends and Family Campout Weekends: Four Friends and Family events will be held in 2026. These are multi-day events that will be jammed-pack with live music, dance, art, games, food and more. The four weekends are: Memorial Day Weekend, the 4th of July Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and the first weekend of October (Final Fall Fling).
Big Fam Festival: Multi-genre music and art festival held the last weekend of September.
When there isn't a scheduled event, the Groves will be open for regular camping for the weekend. There are many things to do in the Irish Hills and the Groves is located less than 90 minutes from several large cities, you won't have a problem keeping busy if you are from out of town!
